Keighley, a town located in West Riding of Yorkshire is 11 miles north of Bradford. It lies at the confluence of the Worth and Aire rivers. Keighley is located in the fold between Airedale and Keighley Moors.
The town is also the end of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. This heritage steam line has been restored and travels through the Worth Valley via Oakworth and Haworth to Oxenhope. The centre of Keighley is located here, as are residential areas in the northwest such as Utley. The local population is dominated by a large Pakistani minority, estimated at 43.3% in the 2011 Census. White British residents accounted for 38.7% at the time.
Shipley is now a small town and commuter suburb in Bradford City, West Yorkshire, England. It is located by the River Aire and Leeds and Liverpool Canal and to the north of the centre of Bradford. At the 2011 UK Census, the population of Bradford City Council's Shipley Ward was 15,483.
Shipley was a district of the West Riding of Yorkshire before 1974. At the UK Census of 2011, the parish had a total population of 28,162. It does not cover the same area as Bradford Ward. Shipley originally was a township within the ancient parishes of Bradford, in the Morley area of the Agbrigg & Morley Wapentake.
